Kierah King

Somatic Justice


A May 2020 Columbia College Chicago graduate, Kierah King received her BFA in Dance with a minor in Black World Studies. A native of Hartford, Connecticut, Kierah was homeschooled in her family’s café where she learned the power of service, education and creativity as central to life.
Following her homeschooling experience, Kierah advanced from her studies where she majored in Musical Theater at the Greater Hartford Academy of the Arts to Columbia College Chicago where her passion for social justice, activism, community building, and civic engagement came through in forms of performance, teaching, training, demonstrations and different forms of choreographic work. Kierah has presented work nationally, and internationally showing choreographic work at, - Centre National De La Danse in Pantin, France 2019, Premiering HA(B*tch)ually on the Dance Center stage in 2019 and was invited to perform again for the College Arts Association in Chicago as well as the American College Dance Association in Kalamazoo, Michigan 2020. Kierah last performed as a soloist in the Beyond The Bars Conference at Columbia University in New York 2020.
