Local DOH Guidelines

Dovetail Studios is following the safety guidelines set forth by the state of Illinois for in-person dance classes. These protocols are based on the safety guidelines set forth by the city of Chicago and can change along with them. Because of this ever-evolving process, the measures set forth are not based on a date-centric timeline.

Currently, masking and vaccination are optional in our studios.

Safety Protocol

COVID-19 is a highly contagious disease that is spread via droplets to the nose, mouth and eyes. Close proximity to other people raises your risk for exposure. Choosing to attend classes at Dovetail Studios during this time assumes your understanding and acceptance of these risks. If you or your dancer tests positive for COVID-19 and has been within the Dovetail building, you must inform Dovetail staff immediately so we can begin emergency cleaning measures and connect with the CDC on guidelines.

New Student Enrollment

Try a Class

If you are interested in a class but unsure of the level or class type, please call us and we can arrange for you to try or observe a class. There are so many choices at Dovetail Studios; we are confident we can find the right fit for you or your family members.

Bring a Friend

If you have a friend that would like to sample a class that you are registered for, please notify us in advance and we can accommodate that request.

Refund Policy

Registration Classes

Refunds for the full amount are granted if cancellation occurs two weeks prior to commencement of class session. No refunds will be granted once the session begins. If a student has to withdraw, they can be issued a credit if the withdrawal is within the first two weeks of the session. These credits only last for 8 months. Credits can be used for classes, camps and birthday parties.

Class Packages

If you sign up and know that you cannot attend please cancel at least one hour before class time to avoid a pass charge.

Class Etiquette

Please arrive at least 10 minutes prior to the start of class. This allows you time to change and get settled. Dancers must be in proper dress code to attend class. For those enrolled in the youth division, tardiness will result in not being able to participate, and the student will need to observe the class instead. Dancers should treat their teachers and classmates with kindness and respect.

Only water is allowed into the studios. Children will have a supervised water break and are asked not to bring water bottles into the classroom.

Attendance Policies

Attendance is very important for dancers at every age and ability level. Poor attendance will prevent students from improving and progressing through the program.

Make-Up Classes

Starting June 2021, makeup classes will be allowed again. To schedule a makeup class, please call the front desk at 872-208-6169. All makeup classes must be completely before the Session ends.

Dancer Safety

We request that dancers wait inside for all rides and pick-up.

Dancers taking multiple classes on any given day are requested to travel within the studio and not outside unattended.

Safety precautions have shifted in light of the COVID-19 pandemic. Please review our COVID Policies for the latest details.
